I think to google betas is complete... until they bring out Google Porn Beta.

Another Google Beta!!! - Google Suggest
As you type, Google will offer suggestions. Use the arrow keys to navigate the results.
Looks pretty cool. What else are they gonna beta, Google hats? Google screensavers? I dunno..
Cleartype Tuning
A new MicroSoft PowerToy for laptops has been introduced, for fine tuning the ClearType settings. You can download the updated PowerToys install package but if you dont want to install the PowerToy, you can use the new style online version through IE here.

Want that old web page???
The WayBack Machine website holds archives of old websites which may have changed a lot over the years. It has an incredible archive, it even has my old website archived from 2002. It is also really good for finding copies of sites from free hosting services that have gone down or turned into subscription services
UK Resistance
For anyone into computer games and consoles this is a must see site. Not so much of a review site, more just ripping the piss out of sad computer games, advertising and stereotype computer geeks

Some good freeware sites
Here are a couple of good new freeware sites to go with the ones that have added before
Has lots of recommendations and a 'Must Have' column on the left hand side
Formerly called WebAttack, this site has a good selection of software/ catagoriesd under 'freeware' and 'shareware' catagories.
However, my favorite and most used is still NoNags
Google Scholar - Academic Search Engine
Google Scholar enables you to search specifically for scholarly literature, including peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, preprints, abstracts and technical reports from all broad areas of research. Use Google Scholar to find articles from a wide variety of academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories and universities, as well as scholarly articles available across the web.
I have only tried this briefly but many of the links that I tried were on secure university servers (and there is no Gcache to check them in)

Guess who's back
I've been busy for a while, but now I can start updating my blog again!!
I'm living in Thailand, so I'm going to have loads of interesting stuff to put on here (hopefully) the only problem is no broadband at the moment (I'm not in Bangkok) so they might be a little slow in coming.
I've got my camera here as well so I can show you some of the weirdness that goes on here (nothing for you smut lovers though)
